# 🔥❄️ CAPCUT TUTORIAL - "COMING SOON" VIDEO

**For:** Meg (The Emissary)

**Purpose:** Create professional 10-15 second announcement videos  
**Time:** 15-20 minutes (first time), 10 minutes after practice  
**Difficulty:** Easy - No video editing experience needed!

## 📱 WHAT YOU'LL NEED

### 1. CapCut App (Free!)
**iPhone/Android:** Download from App Store or Google Play  
**Desktop (Optional):** https://www.capcut.com/download

**Cost:** FREE (no subscription, no watermark!)

### 2. Assets (Already on Michael's Computer)
These files are in the Firefrost branding folder:

1. **Background:** `fire-frost-collision.png` (the epic fire-meets-frost image)
2. **Logo:** `firefrost-logo-dark.png` (our main logo)
3. **Emblem:** `firefrost-emblem-512.png` (our symbol)

**Michael will transfer these to your phone/computer before you start!**

## 🎬 WHAT YOU'RE MAKING

**A 15-second video that looks like this:**

[0-3 seconds]    Fire-frost collision slowly zooms in (dramatic!)

[3-5 seconds]    Firefrost logo appears with cyan glow
[5-12 seconds]   "COMING SOON" text in bright cyan

**With epic music and sound effects!**

**You'll make TWO versions:**
- **Vertical** (for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories)
- **Horizontal** (for YouTube, Twitter, Facebook)

## 📝 STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS (MOBILE)

### STEP 1: Start Your Project
1. Open CapCut
2. Tap "New Project"
3. Select "9:16" (vertical) at the top (we'll do horizontal later)

### STEP 2: Add the Background
1. Tap "+" to import media
2. Select `fire-frost-collision.png`
3. Tap the clip on the timeline
4. Tap "Duration" and set to **3.0 seconds**

### STEP 3: Add Zoom Effect
1. With the background selected, tap "Animation"
2. Scroll to "Camera In" effects
3. Select "Zoom In (Slow)"
4. Tap checkmark

### STEP 4: Add Dark Vignette
1. Tap the background clip again
2. Tap "Filters"
3. Scroll to "Vignette"
4. Select dark vignette, set intensity to **40%**
5. Tap checkmark

### STEP 5: Add White Flash
1. Move the playhead to **3 seconds** (where background ends)
2. Tap "Effects"
3. Search "flash" or scroll to "Video Effects"
4. Select "White Flash"
5. Set duration to **0.3 seconds**
6. Tap checkmark

### STEP 6: Add the Logo
1. Tap "Overlay" at bottom
2. Tap "Add Overlay"
3. Select `firefrost-logo-dark.png`
4. Pinch to resize logo (medium size, centered)
5. Set "Start" to **3.0 seconds** (right after flash)
6. Set duration to **9 seconds** (until end)

### STEP 7: Add Cyan Glow to Logo
1. Tap the logo overlay
2. Tap "Effects"
3. Search "glow" or scroll to "Light Effects"
4. Select "Neon Glow"
5. Adjust color to cyan (#00E5FF or close to it)
6. Set intensity to **30%**
7. Tap checkmark

### STEP 8: Add "COMING SOON" Text
1. Tap "Text" at bottom
2. Tap "Add Text"
3. Type "COMING SOON"
4. Choose font:
   - **First choice:** Orbitron (sci-fi style)
   - **Backup:** Bebas Neue (bold, clean)
   - **Backup:** Impact (if others unavailable)
5. Set text color to **cyan** (#00E5FF)
6. Set size to **72** (large!)
7. Center the text
8. Set "Start" to **5.0 seconds**
9. Set duration to **7 seconds**

### STEP 9: Add Text Animation (Optional but Cool!)
1. With "COMING SOON" text selected
2. Tap "Animation"
3. Select "Pop In" or "Fade In"
4. Tap checkmark

### STEP 10: Add Emblem at End
1. Move playhead to **12 seconds**
2. Tap "Overlay"
3. Add `firefrost-emblem-512.png`
4. Make it small, position in top-center
5. Set duration to **3 seconds**

### STEP 11: Add Website Text
1. Tap "Text"
2. Add "firefrostgaming.com"
3. Font: Same as "COMING SOON" text
4. Color: **White**
5. Size: **36** (smaller than main text)
6. Position below emblem
7. Start at **12.5 seconds**
8. Duration to end of video

### STEP 12: Add Music
1. Tap "Audio" at bottom
2. Tap "Sounds"
3. Search "Epic Trailer" or "Cinematic"
4. Preview a few, pick one you like!
5. Tap "+" to add
6. Trim music to **15 seconds** (match video length)
7. Set volume to **70%** (don't overpower)

### STEP 13: Add Impact Sound
1. Tap "Audio" again
2. Search "Impact" or "Whoosh"
3. Find a dramatic impact sound
4. Add it to timeline at **3 seconds** (the flash moment)
5. Set volume to **80%**

### STEP 14: Final Check
1. Tap "Play" button at bottom
2. Watch the whole video
3. Does it look epic? Good!
4. Does something look weird? Go back and adjust!

### STEP 15: Export Vertical Version
1. Tap "Export" (top right)
2. Settings:
   - Resolution: **1080p**
   - Frame rate: **30fps**
   - Quality: **High**
3. Tap "Export"
4. Save to Photos or Files
5. Rename: `firefrost-coming-soon-vertical.mp4`

### STEP 16: Make Horizontal Version
1. Go back to your project
2. Tap the canvas (the video preview)
3. Tap "Ratio"
4. Select "16:9" (horizontal)
5. Adjust logo/text positions if needed (make sure nothing is cut off)
6. Export again
7. Rename: `firefrost-coming-soon-horizontal.mp4`

## 💡 PRO TIPS

### If Something Doesn't Look Right:
- **Text is cut off?** Make it smaller or reposition
- **Logo is too big?** Pinch to resize
- **Music is too loud?** Lower volume to 60%
- **Flash is too bright?** Reduce flash intensity

### Time-Saving Shortcuts:
- **Duplicate the project** to make variations (New Server, Recruitment, Events)
- **Change just the text** for different announcements
- **Keep the same music** for brand consistency

### Font Alternatives:
If Orbitron isn't available, use:
1. **Bebas Neue** (bold, modern)
2. **Impact** (classic, strong)
3. **Montserrat Bold** (clean, professional)

### Color Reference:
- **Frost Cyan:** #00E5FF (bright, ice-like)
- **Fire Orange:** #FF3D00 (if you want fire accent)
- **White:** #FFFFFF (clean, readable)
- **Black:** #0A0A0A (backgrounds, shadows)

## 🎯 WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR VIDEO

### Instagram (Vertical Version):
1. Open Instagram
2. Create new Reel
3. Upload `firefrost-coming-soon-vertical.mp4`
4. Add caption: "Something amazing is coming to Firefrost Gaming... 🔥❄️"
5. Hashtags: #MinecraftServer #Gaming #ComingSoon

### TikTok (Vertical Version):
1. Open TikTok
2. Create new video
3. Upload your vertical video
4. Caption: "New adventures await... 🔥❄️ #Minecraft #Gaming"

### YouTube (Horizontal Version):
1. Upload to YouTube (or use in YouTube Shorts)
2. Title: "Coming Soon to Firefrost Gaming"
3. Description: "Stay tuned for exciting announcements!"

### Twitter/X (Horizontal Version):
1. New post
2. Upload horizontal video
3. Text: "Something special is coming to Firefrost Gaming... 🔥❄️"

### Discord (Either Version):
1. Go to #announcements channel
2. Upload video
3. Add message about what's coming soon

## 🆘 TROUBLESHOOTING

**Problem:** "I can't find Orbitron font"  
**Solution:** Use Bebas Neue or Impact instead

**Problem:** "The video exported but looks blurry"  
**Solution:** Check export settings - make sure 1080p is selected

**Problem:** "The music is too loud"  
**Solution:** Tap the audio track → Volume → Lower to 60-70%

**Problem:** "The logo is cut off"  
**Solution:** Make logo smaller or reposition, or switch to 16:9 ratio

**Problem:** "I messed something up!"  
**Solution:** Tap "Undo" button (arrow at top) or start a new project - it's okay!

**Problem:** "This is taking forever"  
**Solution:** First time takes 20 minutes. Second time takes 10 minutes. You'll get faster!

## 🎓 FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS

**After you finish Terraria training, you can:**
- Add custom Fire/Frost particle effects
- Animate the fire-frost collision (make it move!)
- Create themed variations (Halloween, Christmas, etc.)
- Make character introduction videos (The Consultants!)

**After you're comfortable with CapCut:**
- Try Pika Labs or Runway ML (AI video generation)
- Make longer announcement videos (30-60 seconds)
- Create recruitment videos with gameplay footage
- Edit gameplay highlights into montages
