**Note:** Name suggests there was an "incorrect" version - this caused confusion

### 3. SESSION-QUICK-START.md

**Replaced by:** SESSION-HANDOFF-PROTOCOL.md (has Quick Reference section)  
**Status:** Archived

### 4. session-handoff-template.md
**Location:** `docs/core/session-handoff-template.md`  
**Purpose:** Template for creating session handoffs  
**Status:** May keep as template, but not authoritative source  
**Use:** Only if creating NEW handoff procedures

### 5. session-handoff.md
**Location:** `docs/core/session-handoff.md`  
**Replaced by:** SESSION-HANDOFF-PROTOCOL.md  
**Status:** Archived

## Why This Change?

**Problem Identified (Fresh Claude Review #2):**
> "Five different session start documents with overlapping but not identical guidance. Unclear which is authoritative. Claude instances may read different versions and get inconsistent instructions."

**Solution:**
- **ONE** authoritative document: `/SESSION-HANDOFF-PROTOCOL.md`
- Clear header stating it's authoritative
- All other session docs archived
- DOCUMENT-INDEX updated to reference only authoritative source

## What to Do If You Find References

If you encounter references to deprecated session docs:
1. Update reference to point to `/SESSION-HANDOFF-PROTOCOL.md`
2. Note the location of the outdated reference
3. Update documentation to use authoritative source

Deprecated documents moved to: `docs/archive/deprecated-session-docs/`

Original files preserved for historical reference but clearly marked as obsolete.
