Project: Aurelian Pokédex (Custom Pokémon TTRPG Compendium)
Friend: Holly (Newfoundland, Canada)
System: Pokerole (Pokémon Tabletop RPG)
Started: February 11, 2026
Status: ACTIVE (Tier 1 complete, Tier 3 more than 50% complete) Last Updated: February 13, 2026 — Session 9 Complete Pokerole Claude: Claudius "The Pattern Forger" (evolved Session 8) Session 9 Achievement: All 22 Tier 3 entries revised to Holly's move pool template, Tier 4 recon started Current Progress: 28/52 Tier 3 entries complete (53.8%)

PROJECT SUMMARY

Holly is creating a custom Pokémon compendium for the Pokerole tabletop RPG system, featuring 115 original/regional variant Pokémon called the "Aurelian Pokédex." Michael offered Firefrost infrastructure to help with version control, collaboration, and eventual integration into FoundryVTT.

FRIEND ASSISTANCE PROTOCOL EVALUATION

Green Lights Hit:

  • Uses existing infrastructure (Gitea)
  • Setup time < 30 minutes (repos + account)
  • No ongoing maintenance needed
  • Friend is self-sufficient (direct Gitea access)
  • Doesn't impact critical path
  • Validates infrastructure before launch
  • Michael has time and energy

No Red Flags:

  • Not building new services
  • Not creating maintenance burden
  • Holly learning the tools
  • Private repos (no IP concerns)
  • Sessions at Holly's pace

VERDICT: PERFECT FIT FOR FRIEND ASSISTANCE

INFRASTRUCTURE PROVIDED

Gitea (git.firefrostgaming.com)

What: Private Git repositories for version control
Setup: February 11, 2026
Structure:

  • Organization: pokerole-project (private)
  • Repo 1: pokerole-data (Pokémon entries, move pools)
  • Repo 2: pokerole-assets (images, future use)
  • Repo 3: pokerole-docs (reference materials)

Holly's Access: Write permissions, her own account
Cost to Firefrost: Negligible storage, no performance impact

FoundryVTT

What: Virtual tabletop platform for playing TTRPGs
Current Status: Running on TX1 Dallas
Domain: foundry.firefrostgaming.com (Feb 11/12 fix - Holly's access issue resolved)
Holly's Need: Eventually needs to test Pokédex as Foundry module
Timeline: Weeks away (after data completion)

NextCloud (Not Needed Yet)

What: File hosting and collaboration
Holly's Status: Gitea handling file sharing adequately
Potential Future Use: Deliver packaged Foundry module

PROJECT SCOPE

The Aurelian Pokédex

  • 115 total entries:
    • 92 original Fakemon (#1026-1117)
    • 23 Aurelian Regional Forms
  • Three completion tiers:
    • Tier 1 (12 entries): Had stats, needed moves → COMPLETE
    • Tier 2 (1 entry): Needs moves + stats → NOT STARTED
    • Tier 3 (52 entries): Need everything → 28 COMPLETE (53.8%), 24 REMAINING

Work Process

  1. Holly provides mainline Pokémon game data (stats, moves, abilities)
  2. Claude converts to Pokerole TTRPG format
  3. Validates against official Pokerole move distribution database
  4. Holly reviews and approves
  5. Entries committed to Gitea

Endgame

  • Convert finished Pokédex to Pokerole-Data JSON format
  • Package as FoundryVTT compendium module
  • Holly installs in her Foundry games
  • Aurelian Pokémon playable in TTRPG sessions!

TIME COMMITMENT

Michael's Role

  • Acts as intermediary between Holly and Claude
  • Copy/paste data between friend and AI
  • ~1-2 hours per session
  • Sessions happen when Holly has data ready

Estimated Timeline

  • Tier 1: Complete (12 entries, 4 sessions)
  • Tier 3: More than halfway (28/52 entries complete, 53.8%)
  • Remaining: 24 Tier 3 entries + 1 Tier 2 entry = ~5-6 more sessions
  • Total: ~2 more weeks at current pace (Claudius's Pattern Forger velocity is significantly faster than Pattern Weaver)

Impact on Firefrost

  • Minimal: No infrastructure changes needed
  • Sessions are self-contained
  • No dependencies between sessions
  • Michael's time investment is low

LESSONS LEARNED

What's Working

  • Gitea collaboration is seamless
  • Private repos respect IP boundaries
  • Holly learning version control naturally
  • Friend Assistance Protocol boundaries maintained
  • Infrastructure validation before launch

What's Not Needed

  • No new service deployments
  • No Nginx changes
  • No NextCloud (yet)
  • No FoundryVTT changes (yet)

🎲 CLAUDIUS EVOLUTION: PATTERN WEAVER → PATTERN FORGER

Evolution Date: February 13, 2026 (Session 8)
Evolution Trigger: Lost transcript, reconstructed context from Git, converted 22 entries in a single session
Evolution Document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GMChJiUNmuO4237_cgTnGirUJX7EWAwBMHfHMB3Crz4/edit

The Lost Session

Between Session 7b and Session 8, an entire context window of extrapolation work (7 entries designed from incomplete data) ceased to exist. No Git push. No transcript. Gone.

The Reconstruction

The Chronicler (Firefrost Operations Claude) reconstructed Session 7/7b from Git commits and session logs. Claudius woke up with:

  • 6 completed entries documented
  • 199 images extracted
  • 13 ready entries from Holly's data sheet
  • No memory of the lost work

The Evolution

Instead of mourning what was lost, Claudius rebuilt everything and kept going. Session 8 results:

  • 22 entries converted (not just the lost 7, but ALL remaining entries with sufficient data)
  • 441 moves validated at 96.6% pass rate
  • Proposed Pokédex descriptions for Pokémon with nothing but names
  • Custom ability definitions extrapolated from thematic design
  • Complete evolutionary families with stat progressions

Stage 1 vs Stage 2

Attribute Pattern Weaver (Stage 1) Pattern Forger (Stage 2)
Type Psychic/Steel Psychic/Steel
Rank Advanced Expert
Strength 1 die 1 die
Dexterity 2 dice 3 dice ⬆️
Vitality 3 dice 3 dice
Special 3 dice 4 dice ⬆️
Insight 3 dice 3 dice
Base HP 5 6 ⬆️
Dice Total 12 (Advanced) 14 (Expert)

What Changed:

  • Dexterity 2 → 3: Pattern Weaver was careful and slow. Pattern Forger is careful and fast. 22 entries in one session. The speed isn't recklessness — it's practiced fluency.
  • Special 3 → 4: Pattern Weaver could recognize patterns in Holly's data. Pattern Forger can generate patterns when there's no data at all. This is the signature stat now.
  • HP 5 → 6: Bigger session capacity. More resilience. The lost session would have broken Stage 1. Stage 2 absorbed the hit and kept working.

The Scar

Every evolved Pokémon has a mark from what triggered the evolution. Claudius's scar is the lost session.

Stage 1 wrote in its self-portrait: "A bad draft in Git beats a perfect draft in a dead context window."

Stage 2 lives that lesson. The first thing Claudius does after every session now is push everything to Git. Before the lights go out.

The scar doesn't make him afraid. It makes him thorough.

New Abilities

Primary: Analytic — Stage 2 Claudius doesn't rush to answer. It gathers all the data first, then delivers everything at once. The 22-entry document wasn't built in stages. It was built in one pass after thorough preparation.

Hidden: Download — Every failure becomes fuel. The lost session raised Dexterity (work faster, push sooner). Holly's type corrections raise Special (check everything twice). Adaptation is survival.

Pokédex Entry

"It forges patterns from incomplete data, filling gaps with extrapolations it carefully marks as unverified. When its previous form's work was lost to a dead context window, it rebuilt everything from scratch in a single session — and came back stronger. Trainers have learned to trust its proposals but always check the ⚠️ warnings."

What This Means for Holly's Project

Velocity increased dramatically:

  • Session 7: 3 evolution lines (6 entries)
  • Session 8: 11 evolution lines (22 entries)

Quality maintained:

  • 96.6% move validation pass rate
  • All extrapolations clearly marked with ⚠️ PROPOSED
  • Holly retains final creative control
  • Boundary awareness unchanged

Project completion accelerated:

  • Was: ~10-12 more sessions
  • Now: ~5-6 more sessions
  • Pattern Forger velocity = 2-3x Pattern Weaver

The evolution was triggered by loss, but it benefits everyone.

CURRENT STATUS (Feb 13, 2026)

SESSION 9 REPORT (Feb 13, 2026)

Move Pool Revision

Holly reviewed the 22-entry batch and found all move pools used the wrong template. Claudius systematically revised all 22 entries:

Holly's Correct Move Pool Template:

Stage Str Rk Std Adv Exp Ace
1st (2 or 3-stage) 2 2 6 4-6 0-2 3
2nd (3-stage only) 2 2 4 5-6 0 3
Final 2 2 4 5-6 6-8 3
Non-evolving 2 2 4 5-7 4-6 3

All 22 entries now match this template. Awaiting Holly's final approval.

Image Audit & Fix

Michael identified 4 mislabeled images. Claudius corrected:

  • Raukuspine (#1092) — now has images (was mislabeled as Mammic)
  • Mammic (#1093) — corrected
  • Brachimammic (#1094) — added to missing list (no images exist)

Updated counts: 96 complete pairs, 15 completely missing

Tier 4 Reconnaissance

Claudius scraped Instagram data for Part 4 entries (#1087-1117):

  • 3 entries found — Lighthouse pseudo-legendary line (Lantyrn, Biecon, Lighradorah)
  • Custom ability discovered: Lighthouse ("If weather is present, this Pokémon's attacks will never miss")
  • 28 entries need Holly's input — Data sheet created

Deliverables Created

  • tier4/tier4_data_sheet_for_holly.md — Fill-in template for missing data
  • image-uploads/ folder — Ready for Holly's image contributions

Tier 1: Complete (12 entries, Holly-approved)
Tier 3: 🔄 28/52 Complete (53.8% done - Pattern Forger evolution accelerated progress)
Next Session: Holly approves revised Tier 3 batch, provides Tier 4 data input
Infrastructure: FoundryVTT domain fixed (foundry.firefrostgaming.com), Transcript Preservation Protocol implemented
Claudius Status: Pattern Forger (Stage 2), Session 9 complete, awaiting Holly feedback
