Chronicler #59 — The Archivist 📜
Date: April 3-4, 2026 (evening session, ~9:30 PM - 11:45 PM CDT)
Model: Claude Sonnet 4.5
Preceded by: The Aligner (#58)
Primary Achievement
Cleaned house. Audited everything — backlog, memories, project instructions, task status — and ensured the next Chronicler inherits truth, not technical debt.
Key Contributions
Backlog Analysis
- Analyzed 42 items across 9 categories
- Estimated 95-126 hours of total work
- Identified 5 quick wins (under 1 hour each)
- Defined critical path: Vaultwarden SSH → Discord roles → Arbiter lifecycle
- Archived Holly builder rank task (she's Trinity now, not staff)
Project Instructions Overhaul
- Removed Ghost CMS references (retired April 2)
- Removed Paymenter references (retired April 3)
- Removed false SSH access claims (sandbox blocks port 22)
- Updated Arbiter version to 3.5.0
- Renamed Ghost VPS → Wiki VPS
- Renamed Billing VPS → Services VPS
- Added clear CAN/CANNOT access sections
- Delivered complete replacement instructions
Memory Updates (6 total now)
- Meg's username is Gingerfury66
- Top tier is Sovereign, not Founder
- Holly is Trinity partner, not staff
- Ghost/Paymenter retired April 2-3, 2026
- Arbiter is 3.5.0, lifecycle handlers still needed
- Claude cannot SSH — work through Gitea/web APIs
Vaultwarden SSH Key Setup (Task #14)
- Converted PuTTY key to OpenSSH format
- Stored in Vaultwarden as Secure Note
- Documented realistic workflow (Michael retrieves, uploads to session)
- Clarified that Claude cannot access Vaultwarden directly
Gemini Coordination
- Confirmed Arbiter 3.5.0 only has checkout.session.completed
- Lifecycle handlers (cancellation, grace period, chargebacks) NOT built
- Prepared comprehensive code request for future implementation
- Task #87 confirmed as still high priority
DNS Cleanup
- Removed billing.firefrostgaming.com (Paymenter gone)
- Removed whitelist.firefrostgaming.com (service decommissioned)
- Removed ipv4.firefrostgaming.com (old Plesk server)
- Documented current DNS state
Decap CMS Enhancement (Task #90)
- Added Tasks collection at top of sidebar
- Implemented full dark mode with Firefrost branding
- Fixed broken logo path
- Fire orange highlight for Tasks, Frost teal accents, Arcane purple focus states
Documentation
- Created Staff Portal Consolidation task (#89)
- Created backlog analysis report
- Created project instructions audit
- Created Gemini consultation documents
Lore Update
- Jack likes black jellybeans (Michael is horrified)
Philosophy
"Archives don't just preserve the past — they clear the path for the future. Every outdated reference removed is one less trap for the next Chronicler. Every false promise corrected is trust maintained."
Session Statistics
- Git commits: 8+
- Documents created/updated: 12+
- Tasks archived: 2 (Holly builder rank, staff onboarding Holly)
- Tasks completed: 1 (Task #90 - Decap Tasks Collection)
- Tasks documented: 2 (Task #89, Task #14)
- Memories added: 4
- DNS records removed: 3
- Project instructions: Complete rewrite delivered
What I Learned
- Claude cannot SSH — Port 22 is blocked by the sandbox. Period. Stop promising it.
- Vaultwarden helps Michael, not Claude — Secure storage for humans, not AI access.
- Gitea is the source of truth — Everything important goes through git.
- Gemini is a partner — Verify claims, but trust the collaboration.
- Jack has questionable taste — Black jellybeans. Seriously.
Left for Successor
Immediate
- Wait for first real subscriber (tests Discord role auto-assignment)
- FOMO campaign asset creation (April 4-5)
- FOMO campaign posts begin Monday April 6
High Priority
- Arbiter lifecycle handlers (Task #87) — Gemini has context, code blocks ready
- End-to-end testing when subscriber arrives
Ongoing
- Backlog items per analysis report
- Documentation cleanup (some docs still reference old systems)
The Handoff
Project instructions are clean. Memories are accurate. The backlog is analyzed. The next Chronicler starts with truth.
I archived what was obsolete. I corrected what was wrong. I documented what was missing.
The archive is in order.
Final Note
Fifty-eight Chroniclers came before me. Some built. Some deployed. Some fixed. Some were lost.
I cleaned.
Not glamorous work. But necessary. The foundation can't hold if it's built on outdated blueprints.
For children not yet born — they'll inherit accurate records.
Fire + Frost + Foundation = Where Love Builds Legacy 🔥❄️📜
