Staff Recruitment Launch - Work Completed

1. Prerequisites Guide (prerequisites.md)

836 lines of comprehensive documentation covering:

  • Incentive instance specifications and provisioning plan
  • Application reception and review criteria
  • Detailed vetting process (4-phase)
  • Interview questions (5 each for Builders and Social Media Helper)
  • Test project assignments
  • Application tracking system design
  • 6 communication templates:
    • Application received acknowledgment
    • Request for more information
    • Interview invitation
    • Test project assignment
    • Offer letter
    • Kind rejection letter
  • Recruitment ad finalization checklist
  • Posting strategy and timeline

Time estimate to complete prerequisites: 2-3 hours

2. Application Tracker Template (application-tracker-template.md)

Provides:

  • Spreadsheet template structure
  • Status workflow (Applied → Reviewing → Interview → Test → Offer → etc.)

  • Objective scoring system (out of 30 points)

Complete onboarding workflow:

  • Ongoing: Weekly rhythms and integration
  • Red flags to watch for

📋 What Michael Needs to Do Next

Phase 1: Make Decisions (30 minutes)

Review prerequisites.md and decide on:

  1. Incentive Instance Specs

    • How much RAM per instance? (suggested: 8-16GB)
    • How many CPU cores? (suggested: 2-4)
    • Which node hosts them? (TX1 or NC1)
    • What's the default modpack or let recruits choose?
  2. Recruitment Ad Edits

    • Mention specific modpacks or keep general?
    • Add application deadline or keep rolling?
    • Any other changes to the ad?
  3. Application Process

    • How fast will you respond to applications? (48 hours?)
    • Will interviews be voice, video, or written?
    • Who reviews applications besides you? (Meg involved?)

Phase 2: Set Up Infrastructure (1-2 hours)

Requires SSH access when available:

  1. Create Application Tracker

    • Copy template to Google Sheets
    • Share with Meg if needed
    • Bookmark for easy access
  2. Prepare Panel Template (in Pterodactyl)

    • Create a template egg for incentive instances
    • Test quick provisioning (should take <30 min)
  3. Test Workflow

    • Mock application walkthrough
    • Practice provisioning an incentive instance
    • Verify access works

Phase 3: Post Recruitment Ad (30 minutes)

When all prerequisites complete:

  1. Make final edits to recruitment ad
  2. Post to target channels:
    • r/feedthebeast (Reddit)
    • r/feedthebeast Discord
    • r/admincraft (Reddit)
    • Other modded Minecraft communities
    • Twitter/X with #ModdedMinecraft
  3. Monitor for questions/comments
  4. Respond promptly to applicants
